I am so happy you have chosen my blog. I hope to bring you some fun stories, along with pictures from our camping experiences. This is not our first time to take up camping. When our daughter was small, in grade school we went camping as a family. As she grew older, she got busier with school and activities and so camping was put on hold for several years. She is now 34 years old with children of her own. My husband and I are retired. This time around we hope we get to take our grand children camping.
We just purchased a used pop-up camper about a month ago. We have been working diligently to get it ready for our first trip. We have made some adjustments to suit our own needs. I am sure after this first trip we will have some tweeking to do. We chose a pop-up camper because I am too old to lay on the ground in a tent and a we are not ready for a big RV.
Our first trip is to a State Park in Missouri. Just about an hour away from home. We chose a place close just in case we encounter problems. Tonight we took the camper out and practiced backing it into a parking spot at the local lot. My husband did a fantastic job. He is such a good backer upper.
I practiced my skills of getting him backed up so that the receiver was right over the hitch. I need a little practice, but I didn't do awful. Tomorrow I will finish getting all the food together for our trip. Trying to keep it simple the first time out. After this we will try some new ideas for food prep.
